Two factors are never mentioned when this image gets splashed around social media.
1. The diamonds are not guaranteed. Ever.
2. It is imperative you ask yourself some questions at the start and do NOT embark on the endeavor until these are clear:
Is this endeavor costing you something? Anything? Money, time, emotion, energy?
Are you prepared to lose that and NOT get any diamonds at all?
What are you prepared to lose? How much are you prepared to lose?
It is critical that you set the boundaries of your endeavour and regularly refer to them, weekly. Set your limits – in all aspects of your life where you anticipate the endeavour will impact - and give everything you’ve got to the process, up to those limits.
Maybe you are one of the lucky ones, and it’s not going to cost you anything – Awesome! Mine to your heart’s content and keep going, keep going, keep going! Persevere!
For everyone else, the hope that the diamonds are there, and the belief that all you have to do is keep going … will push you deeper and deeper. You keep going because your only salvation and justification for losing so much is in reaching those diamonds.
The point where you are continuing to persevere – despite losing more than you can afford to lose, is the tipping point. You have developed a gambling addiction mentality.
The diamonds are not guaranteed. It is gambling. Treat it that way.
